How is this Christian-based?After walking away, you leave the Holy Spirit with the power to direct whomever needs the message to the sticky note, trusting in the power of God.
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12) “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and will prosper everywhere I send it.” (Isaiah 55:11) |
It’s entirely anonymous as well.
“When you do good deeds, don’t try to show off. If you do, you won’t get a reward from your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 6:1)
Whoever finds your sticky note will know that there isn’t a greedy or false organization with an agenda attached to it, since there aren’t campaign messages or sales slogans, just the word of God.
“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” (Psalm 119:130)
It’s also a very inexpensive way of sharing the gospel. God uses everyone, from the officials running multi-continental Christian organizations that use hundreds of thousands of dollars to just a simple person with a sticky note and a pencil.
“For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” (Luke 9:48b)
Even non-traditional ministries like this can be used by God to further his plan.
“There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” (1 Corinthians 12:5-6)
If you want to get adventurous, you could even go on a ‘mission trip,’ so to speak, by traveling somewhere, (doesn’t have to be faraway) and distributing the word of God on little sticky notes for people to find.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

What should I write?A very simple message is just “Jesus loves you.” I’d recommend this if you need to write something under time pressure.
If you have a moment to spare, you might want to write a Bible verse. Try keeping a folded sheet of notebook paper, with verses written on it, near your sticky notes. |
Maybe you’re going somewhere today in which you know you will have a lot of opportunities to place sticky notes. Plan ahead by writing on multiple sticky notes by raising the top one and writing on the one below it without peeling the first away.
Ultimately, though, you should pray to God and write whatever He tells you to write.
“I delight to do Your will, O my God; yes, Your law is within my heart.” (Psalm 40:8)

Tips and Tricks
|
- If you’re sitting down and then standing up, you can make it look like you stood up and ‘accidentally’ left the sticky note behind by putting it under a leg, and then standing up and not looking back at it.
- Try using golf pencils, if you have them. They’re easy to carry in your pocket and allow you to write on the go.
- Restrooms are a good place in which you are alone and can place a sticky note without being seen by people around you.
- Walk away from the sticky note after placing it. Don’t continue to dawdle or stare at it, because then people around you will know something’s up.
- If you think of an improvement to the method I’ve described, go do it!
